Phenomenal Women Donate $500K to ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞ School of Medicine Student Scholarships

ATLANTA (August 18, 2014) – Mrs. Billye Aaron and a group of prestigious women volunteers presented ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞ School of Medicine with a gift of $500,000 for student scholarships during a special luncheon on Aug. 16. The event marked the official kick off of ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞ School of Medicine’s inaugural events in honor of Valerie Montgomery Rice, M.D., the School’s incoming sixth president.
On July 1, Dr. Montgomery Rice became the first woman president of the 38-year-old medical school, where she previously served as the dean and executive vice president for two years. She will maintain in her role as dean. The investiture will occur at the Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel on the campus of ÎÞÂëÈËÆÞ College Sept. 11 at 11:00 a.m. Other celebratory activities will occur Sept. 12-13.
